OLD SAYBROOK—The popular Handel’s Messiah Sing or Listen community event, sponsored by Cappella Cantorum, will be held on Sunday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (The Kate), 300 Main Street, Old Saybrook. All are welcome — sit in the back and listen, or join the group down front and sing along with other talented area vocalists to create an extraordinary holiday experience.
Those wishing to sing should arrive and be seated in sections by 1:30 p.m. for a short rehearsal. Bring your own Messiah score if you have it, or copies will be available on loan for the event. The performance will start at 2 p.m., under the direction of Simon Holt and accompanied by pianist Blake Hansen. This year’s soloists include Clare Brussel (soprano), Rachel Abrams (mezzo-soprano), Brian Cheney (tenor), and John Ong (bass).
Come and participate in the sounds of the season with this beloved holiday tradition! Tickets can be purchased at the door, through the Kate’s website at thekate.org, or by calling the Kate box office at 860-510-0453. For more information, visit cappellacantorum.org or call 860-532-0454.
