Sales Tax-Free Week in CT Begins, Runs Through Saturday

August 17, 2024 by admin

It’s sales tax-free week in Connecticut from August 18 to 24.

Just a quick reminder that Sales Tax-Free Week in Connecticut begins Sunday, August 18, and runs through Saturday, August 24.

During this weeklong sales-tax holiday, retail purchases of most clothing and footwear items priced under $100 are exempt from Connecticut sales tax. The exemption applies to each eligible item priced under $100, regardless of the total number of items purchased on the same invoice. Specific items, including athletic clothing, jewelry, and handbags are not included.  Details can be found at this link.

“This year’s tax-free holiday lands a little earlier to give families a head start for the back-to-school season, which will be here before we know it,” according to Governor Lamont.
