We are currently at the start of yet another storm event. While forecast models differ in the type and accumulation of precipitation to expect, it seems certain that Winter Storm Saturn will be a windy one.
Loose items in your yard may become airborne and cause damage during this event. Readers are urged to secure loose yard items including garbage cans in their yards and to prepare for the potential loss of power due to falling trees and limbs. This storm may also create coastline and/or low level flooding and beach erosion conditions through repeated tide cycles.
Readers are also requested to check on family, relatives and neighbors and reminded that storm preparedness recommendations can be found at www.Ready.gov.
The Old Lyme Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is continuing to monitor weather conditions and will post important information as needed.
The EOC Call Center at 860-598-0120 has been activated and will be monitored remotely at this time. If you have a storm-related matter, call and leave detailed information. Your call will then be returned.
To report downed wires or loss of power, contact CL & P at 800 286-2000.
