The George House Tag Sale will be held at the Lyme Public Hall on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The sale will feature housewares, furniture, tools, jewelry, and unexpected treasures. Proceeds will go toward the maintenance of the historic 1887 Lyme Public Hall, the Bacdayan Local History Archives, and programs for the public. Intake for donation drop-off of tag sale items at the Lyme Public Hall will be available on four dates before the sale:

• 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, Sept. 9
• 10 am to 2 pm on Monday, Sept.11
• 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 12
• 10 am to 1 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 13

The Hall will gladly welcome good quality items such as solid wood furniture, tools, antiques, jewelry, housewares, fine china and linens, sporting goods, musical instruments and gift items. Please note that the organization is unable to accept large appliances, upholstered or particle-board furniture, consumer electronics (TVs, computers, fax machines, etc.), large exercise equipment, clothing, books or toys. OLD LYME/LYME/OLD SAYBROOK —On Thursday, Oct. 19, join the Old Lyme Democrats for some autumn fun at Trivia Night at Myrcene Ale Co. located at 39 Ragged Rock Rd. in Old Saybrook.

Bring a team of two or six, or come along solo and a team will be found for you.

The host will be Dave Rubino.

All are welcome and doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Entry is $25.00 per person and all proceeds benefit the Old Lyme Democratic Town Committee.

OLD LYME — Pumpkin Day at the Lyme Art Association is fun for the whole family! Paint a pumpkin, enjoy live music, art demos, and more.

Listen to live music played by the Wandering Fiddlers while painting your pumpkin.  Enjoy face painting, art demos by Brian McClear (painting) and Kimberly Monson (sculpture), and other fun fall art projects.

*One pumpkin per person with a donation to the Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries, or purchase a pumpkin at LAA, or BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin).

OLD LYME — The Lyme-Old Lyme Veterans of Foreign Wars (LOLVFW) Post 1467 has announced that its annual dinner-dance fundraiser will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, at Christ the King Parish Hall, 1 McCurdy Rd. in Old Lyme.

Social hour begins at 6 p.m. followed by a catered buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m., which will include appetizers, choice of entrée, desserts, beer and wine.

Reservations are required at $40.00 per person, payable in advance, with VENMO (see QR code to access Venmo below) or at the door. All are welcome.
