NEW LONDON—The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, along with a dedicated group of change leaders, has created a unified platform to End Child Poverty Now in Connecticut.
On Wednesday, June 18, from10 a.m. to 12 p.m., join the Foundation at Waterford Public Library for a legislative forum to discuss ending child poverty in the state. Hear from legislators and advocates about the accomplishments and challenges of the 2025 legislative session. Learn more about ways to address the root causes of child poverty, including income inequality, access to healthcare, safe and affordable homes, quality education and child care, and a healthy environment.
The Community Foundation’s collaborative envisions a thriving and economically robust Connecticut, where no child experiences the debilitating effects of poverty. The Foundation believes that every child deserves access to basic necessities, quality education, and a nurturing environment that fosters their physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
All are welcome. Register by June 13 at this link.
