A swallowtail butterfly lands on late summer flowers.

OLD LYME—On Wednesday, May 21, John Himmelman will discuss “Butterflies and Their Gardens” at a Duck River Garden Club of Old Lyme and East Lyme program held at Memorial Town Hall on Lyme Street in Old Lyme.

Himmelman, an author, illustrator, and naturalist, will discuss how butterflies pollinate the flora while adding color, form, and movement to the outdoor tapestry. He will also explain how to entice them to stick around by planting food for both the adults and their caterpillars.

Join the Duck River Garden Club for a 6:40 p.m. social followed by this program at 7 p.m.  The program is free.
