Lyme-Old Lyme Schools Announce ‘Teacher of the Year’, ‘Employee of the Year’

OLD LYME — The Lyme-Old Lyme (LOL) Schools Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year respectively for 2023-24 were announced yesterday at the LOL Schools Convocation event.

The 2023-24 LOL Schools Teacher of the Year is Alyssa Karpuska, who teaches Kindergarten at Mile Creek School and attended LOL Schools as a student.

Jennifer Vigen (right) is Lyme-Old Lyme Schools Employee of the Year. She stands with Superintendent Neviaser and Lyme School Principal Allison Hine.

The 2023-24 LOL Schools Employee of the Year is Jennifer Vigen, who is an Instructional Assistant at Lyme School and a resident of Lyme.

    Alyssa is a gift to kindergarteners, a real gem! Wonderful choice!

    Jen was the root that held kindergarteners together last year as they had so many changes.. Thanks to her, they became flexible and resilient. Well done!
