LYME — Julia Balfour, who founded and led the integrated creative agency now located in East Haddam that bears her name, passed away Nov. 30, 2020. She ran the agency for many years from her home in Lyme.
The sense of shock among the local community and throughout the extensive business world in which she worked is profound.
Julia was a remarkable woman, whose very presence was not only incredibly powerful but also irresistibly magnetic. There was never a dull moment with Julia — her laugh is universally unforgettable. She was extraordinarily talented and has been taken from us far too young.
Here at LymeLine.com, we extend our deepest sympathies to Julia’s family, friends, business colleagues and clients. She will be missed so deeply.
There will be a socially-distanced bonfire at Ashlawn Farm, 78 Bill Hill Rd. in Lyme on Sunday, Dec. 6, starting at 2 p.m. to celebrate Julia’s life. All who loved, liked or worked with Julia are welcome. Also, everyone who admired her or wished he or she had known her better is invited.
Come share a story, listen to a story, or just be together with a large group of her fans.
Wear a mask, dress warmly and BYOBubbly.

Yesterday I lost a friend, a young woman who epitomized all that’s important in life. She was not only a friend, she was a business partner, a woman who intuitively knew what was needed and did it, she never doubted her own talent, she acted on it. I was a client of JULIA BALFOUR, LLC and like so many others became a friend and admirer.
Julia passed away yesterday, RIP dear Julia.

Julia welcomed me to her team in March – in a five minute conversation as the state was shutting down for its first round against this pandemic. We were in the parking lot at 3 Norwich, and I swear it starting raining glitter. Hahah – because she was that magical!
Since that time, I’ve gotten to know her from a distance. Julia knew her time here was limited, so she lived without limits and put her love and passion into everything. Even little back and forth conversations through email, or even a text. In her own way, she wanted everything to be just about perfect. And it is.
Yesterday, standing in a field at Ashlawn Farm, I listened to many people echo their love and admiration for her. It was amazing. Simply amazing.
I love you, Julia.
