The ever-popular Lyme-Old Lyme (LOL) High School’s Select Singers, under the direction of Kristine Pekar, return to the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme at 2 Ferry Rd. today. After an unbroken 15-year run, last year the Choir journeyed to Pearl Harbor to perform at a national commemoration at the historic site.
This year the chorus will again join the December monthly luncheon of the Ladies Benevolent Society (LBS) of the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme to entertain attendees with holiday music. The LOL High School Select Singers have been performing at the annual December LBS luncheon since the 1970s, when grandparents of current Choir members may well have performed!
Luncheons are open to all and are served promptly at noon. The cost is $5 with a contribution of canned goods for the Shoreline Food Pantry. The music begins around 1 p.m. This program is always a sell-out. Make reservations today by calling the church office at 860-434-8686 before noon.
Gorgeous projects recently created by the LBS Ladies Who Stitch and holiday treasures from the Elephants-in-Winter sale will also be on offer. The Elephants-in-Winter treasures will be discounted 50 percent on the morning before the Luncheon.
