Churches of Lyme and Old Lyme Come Together for Thanksgiving Service This Evening

November 21, 2016 by admin

ad_for_ecumenical_serviceThe annual Community Service of Thanksgiving, sponsored by the churches of Lyme and Old Lyme, will take place at 7 p.m. this evening, Monday, Nov. 21, at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme. All are welcome to attend this ecumenical service of prayer and song, which will feature music led by the choirs of First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, and Christ the King Roman Catholic Church.

Clergy from the various faith communities will participate, as will lay members and community leaders.

An offering will be taken up during the service to benefit the Shoreline Soup Kitchen, and donations of nonperishable foods will be collected for the Shoreline Food Pantry, to help our neighbors in need.

The 2016 Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service takes place at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme at 2 Ferry Rd.  Everyone, regardless of religious affiliation, is welcome to attend.
