Essex Land Trust Hosts Falls River Family Canoe & Kayak Trip This Afternoon

July 19, 2015 by admin

Falls River Preserve
Explore Falls River Pond, the site of three Essex Land Trust properties, from your canoe or kayak.

Today, Sunday, July 19, Essex Land Trust will host a two-hour, naturalist-led, family paddle in calm waters to allow participants to see abundant wildlife, including an active egret rookery and several purple martin colonies. The trip leaders will recount the human and natural history of this river that was first dammed in the late 1600s and was instrumental in the economic and social development of the local towns.

Encourage your family and friends to join this trip.

Launch your boats from the small public park on Falls River Drive, just off of Main St. in Ivoryton. Plan to arrive by 3:30 p.m. to sign waiver form for a prompt 4 p.m. departure from the small public park on Falls River Dr., just off Main St. in Ivoryton.

Rain cancels.
