The Public Information Meeting scheduled by the Town of Old Lyme and the Old Lyme Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) for Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m for the presentation of findings of the study on wastewater management options for the shoreline area of Old Lyme has been postponed.
Project engineers Woodard and Curran (W & C) have been conducting the study and on Thursday, Aug. 15, W & C representatives presented a project update to the WPCA on the study. The study focused on testing two initial sites for the disposal and reuse of wastewater.
To date, the study has netted positive results to facilitate multiple wastewater management options, however, final recommendations cannot be completed until all assumptions and costs are reviewed and confirmed.
The WPCA submits that details of the complete study, including viable alternatives, capital and life-cycle costs, and non-cost factors, will allow the residents of Old Lyme to choose the best wastewater management system(s) for their community.
The presentation on Aug. 27 was scheduled in an effort to provide convenience for all residents (accommodating those who are here in the summer months), but as it transpires that the study is not yet complete, another meeting will now be scheduled as soon as possible.
Details of the new meeting time and place will published on LymeLine.com as soon as they are available and also on the town website at www.oldlyme-ct.gov.
