Retiring Lyme Town Clerk Ruth Perry, right, hands over the office keys to Linda Winzer, Lyme’s new town clerk. Last Friday, March 18, was Ruth Perry’s last day as Lyme Town Clerk, a position she has held for almost 25 years since 1987.
Her colleagues in the town hall threw a retirement party for her Friday afternoon, capping off a week during which there was a constant flow of well-wishers through town hall who came to thank Perry for her service to the Town of Lyme.
The former assistant town clerk, Linda Winzer, has been serving as Lyme’s part-time social services coordinator. She was appointed by the selectmen to serve out the balance of Perry’s term.
