‘Luxury on the Move’ Brings Supercars to Old Lyme, June 1

May 18, 2025 by Elizabeth Regan Leave a Comment

The event promises the likes of Lotus, Lamborghini and Ferrari.

OLD LYME–Luxury and customized automobiles will converge at the Old Lyme Shopping Center plaza on Sunday, June 1, from 2 to 5 p.m.

The inaugural Luxury on the Move event from Nautilus Architects and All Pro Automotive is meant to showcase the similarities between luxury homes and luxury cars, according to Nautilus Architects operations and marketing manager Barbara Arelt.

In a phone interview this week, she said a Lotus, Lamborgini and Ferrari are just some of the high-end vehicles expected to roll in.

She called on any automotive aficionados with supercars or fun, personalized vehicles to showcase them at the free event.

Barbara Arelt said overflow parking will be available in the Florence Griswold Museum lot.

Nautilus Architects owner Christopher Arelt in an email described the dynamic driving the unique car show.

“Design has the power to move us—on the road and at home,” he said. “At Nautilus Architects, we bring the same precision, beauty, and performance you see in a Ferrari or McLaren into every home we design.”

Barbara Arelt said the parallel between luxury homes and cars is evident in clients who’ve sought out special features like a car lift or special flooring material in the garage of their homes.

“Sometimes it’s more space that’s designed to accommodate a collection,” she said.

She expects to see some of those clients at the event, she said.

Luxury at this car show is in the eye of the beholder, according to Barbara Arelt.

“It’s open to all cars, no matter what shape or size, that people are proud of,” she said.
