OLD LYME—Next week, Sept. 22 – 29, it is Banned Books Week and the Old Lyme-Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library is celebrating it with a number of events, including a community wide Read-In event of any book—banned or otherwise: a talk about book bans and censorship by the co-chair of CT Library Association’s Intellectual Freedom Committee, and finally a Banned Books Jeopardy game.

Read In to Speak Out
This program kicks off the American Library Association’s Banned Books Week with a community wide Read-In event. Choose a book- banned, challenged or any book at all and celebrate fREADom! Earn raffle tickets for a chance to win a Banned Books swag bag.

Join a presentation and discussion with Lindsay Delligan, co-chair of Connecticut Library Association’s Intellectual Freedom Committee. She will go over recent trends in book bans and book challenges across the country, as well as new state laws and recent lawsuits aimed at protecting your First Amendment rights.
