Jim Devine was great at networking and supporting educators throughout Connecticut especially in his role as President of EMSPAC (Elementary and Middle School Principals’ Association of Connecticut) which is now part of CAS (Connecticut Association of Schools).
Jim was always so proud and appreciative of the accomplishments of his faculty, staff, and above all, the students at Harbor School in New London. At the same time, he was always up-to-date with educational legislation and was a valuable resource, especially in the process of appointing many EMSPAC representatives to statewide committees. Jim worked well with the Commissioner of Education and other officials at the State Department of Education.
Making excellent things happen on a daily basis at Harbor School was a priority! He always sought to promote the input of Principals in statewide efforts to improve education and develop successful applications in schools.

With sincere appreciation of Jim Devine,

    Adam S. Burrows
Principal of Center School in Old Lyme (1985 – 2005)
Voluntown Superintendent of Schools (2006 – Present)
