OLD LYME—With the leaves beginning to turn and a chill in the air, say goodbye to summer and look forward to the pumpkin-spiced season of Autumn. Celebrate the Autumnal Equinox and the coming season with a visit to the annual Harvest Festival at Christ the King Church on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22.
This year’s family-friendly Harvest Festival will have something for everyone: you can search for bargains at the huge King’s Rummage Sale, where you’ll find housewares and kitchen items, books and CDs, holiday decorations, jewelry, bicycles and exercise equipment, furniture, rugs, artwork, toys, and more.
Meanwhile, kids of all ages will enjoy Games like Soccer Kick, Hockey Shot, and Bust-a-Balloon.
The Silent Auction offers exciting items to bid on, such as artwork, gift certificates, and themed baskets.
There will be local musicians providing entertainment for you while you relax on the patio and enjoy lunch or snacks prepared by the Men’s Club.
You can satisfy your sweet tooth with some homemade goodies at the Bake Sale — and choose some autumn color for your home at the Fall Plants & Produce stand.
Hours for the Harvest Festival are 8:30am to 3pm on Saturday, Sept. 21; the Rummage Sale, Plant Sale, and Silent Auction continue Sunday morning (Sept. 22) from 9am to noon. On Sunday, most Rummage Sale items will be half-price! As always, admission to Christ the King’s Harvest Festival is free.
