Drive-Thru Pick Up of COVID-19 Test Kits Scheduled THIS AFTERNOON to Eligible Residents from 3-5pm (OR UNTIL SUPPLIES EXHAUSTED) at LOL Middle School. Only 180 Tests Available, Distribution First-Come, First Served
OLD LYME — We have just received the following important update from Old Lyme Emergency Services Director David Roberge regarding distribution of state-funded COVID-19 self-test kits to Old Lyme residents:
On Saturday, Jan. 1, the Town of Old Lyme received a small quantity of COVID-19 test kits from the State. Our original expected quantity of 990 kits has been reduced to less than 550. With this reduced quantity, the State is requesting that we, the municipality, prioritize our quantity of supplies to “symptomatic individuals and municipal frontline workers, including first responders, childcare workers, and school staff.”
Based on the priority distribution recommendations, only 180 test-kits are currently available to residents at this time, and tests ARE RESTRICTED ONLY to “residents who CURRENTLY need to make wise decisions about quarantining or isolating if displaying symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has recently tested positive for COVID-19.”
A Drive Thru pickup is scheduled today Sunday, Jan. 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. or until supplies are exhausted at the Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School driveway behind Lymes’ Youth Service Bureau for Old Lyme residents, who meet this criteria. Please enter from the Center School driveway entrance. Residents will need to show ID and distribution will be one test kit per household.
If you do not meet these strict criteria, please be patient as we remain in constant contact with the State and anticipate additional allocations of test kits to become available in the near future. When we do receive additional shipments, we will announce and schedule future drive thru pickup locations.
