OLD LYME — On Friday, Dec. 4, Ledge Light Health District (LLHD) is hosting a ‘pop-up,’ drive-thru COVID-testing center at Lymes’ Senior Center at 26 Town Woods Rd, Old Lyme, from 2 to 5 p.m.
A free PCR test will be administered. Results typically take 24 to 72 hours.
You do not need to be experiencing symptoms or have a doctor’s order.
Children can be tested as long as a parent/guardian is with them to provide consent.
There is no fee and your insurance will not be billed.
Everyone is welcome and pre-registration is not required.
Note that demand for testing is very high right now. LLHD is working to provide testing to everyone who wants to be tested but there are limited resources. You should therefore expect a long wait time at all testing events – LLHD appreciates your patience and understanding.
Complimentary COVID Testing Transportation is available and provides free accessible transportation to COVID test sites in the district seven days per week. Trips must begin in Clinton, Chester, Durham, Essex, East Haddam, Deep River, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook and may be to any testing site in those towns. Any resident regardless of age or ability is eligible, and up to four people may travel together.
Trips must be booked at least one day in advance by calling Curtin Transportation at 860-443-1655 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available upon request.
Face coverings are required when riding.
