$15 Donation Buys an Artisan Soup Bowl from Local Artists and All the Soup You Can Eat Donated by More Than 20 Area Eateries

The First Congregational Church of Old Lyme (FCCOL) hosts its 16th Annual “Soup Bowl Supper” on Friday, March 2, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall to help raise funds for the church’s food ministries.
In return for a $15 donation, participants will receive an artisan soup bowl – handcrafted by Walt’s Pottery Studio artists – and all the soup they can eat donated by nearly two dozen area restaurants, pubs, delis, coffee shops and grocery stores.

Live music will be provided by the Jazz Circle. The event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
Through its various food ministries, the church
• provides groceries and a meal for more than 150 local families at its weekly food pantry – in close coordination with Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries;
• prepares and serve meals every month for the homeless at the New London Soup Kitchen;
• provides affordable food to area people in need through its support of FRESH New London; and
• provides food and clothing to the homeless in New York City through its support of a charity called Midnight Run.
