UPDATE 11/21 7:34PM:  Despite being two goals down at half-time to Notre Dame of Fairfield, Paul Gleason’s Wildcats, seeded fifth, clawed back in the second half with two goals by Maddy Oullette to equalize the score.

After two periods of overtime, the score was still level at 2-0 and under CIAC rules, both teams were declared co-Class S  state champions.

This is the second time that an Old Lyme girl’s soccer team has been named co-champions of Class S — it happened in 2009, when the Old Lyme girls shared the title with Immaculate of Danbury after a 1-1 tie.

CONGRATULATIONS, WILDCATS!
