Austin Hack, who graduated in 2010 from Lyme-Old Lyme High School, has been nominated as US Rowing Collegiate Athlete of the Year. Help him win by voting for him at this link before voting closes on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 5 p.m. EST. Hack is currently in second place and just a couple of percentage points behind the leader.
After leaving Old Lyme, Hack went on to Stanford University, where he rows on the Varsity rowing team and is also a member of the US National U-23 rowing team. There is no question he is on the radar of the Olympic rowing team selection officials.
Austin is the son of Dr’s Greg and Barbara Hack of Old Lyme.
The US Rowing Collegiate Athlete of the Year is a “fans’ choice” award where people vote for their favorite rower and the person with the most votes on 10/15 wins the title.
You can only vote once from each IP address, but if you own an i-Phone, an i-Pad and a laptop, you can vote three times … and if you can vote from a computer at your workplace, that’s another vote!
Austin is one of five rowers nominated for the award — he is currently in third place so let’s see if all our LymeLine readers can move him up to first.
Thanks to you all — and good luck, Austin!
