The Town of Lyme would like to advise residents that the traditional Cove Road July 4th Parade will be held Wednesday, July 4, at approximately 10 a.m., in celebration of Independence Day. The parade will begin near Camp Claire on Cove Road, cross Rte. 156 and end at the Lyme Grange. Residents should expect temporary street closings during the parade and parking may be limited in some areas.
The grand marshal for this year’s parade will be Rowland J. Ballek, who served as the moderator of Lyme’s Annual Town Meeting for 46 years, from 1972 through 2018. Ballek also served on the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission from 1962 (the year it was established) through 1978, including a seven-year stint as the commission’s chairman.
Note that Lyme Town Hall, Public Library and Transfer Station will all be closed Wednesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
