Body Recovered from Connecticut River in Lyme
State EnCon Police are investigating after a boater reported a body in the Connecticut River near the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry on Saturday afternoon.
LYME, CT – State Environmental Conservation Police are investigating after the body of an adult male was recovered Saturday afternoon from the Connecticut River in Lyme.
A state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection spokesman said the call came in around 1 p.m. from a boater who reported seeing a body in the area of the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry.
The body, which appeared to have been in the water for an extended period, was recovered by members of the state Environmental Conservation Police, Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit and fire departments from Lyme and Chester.
The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
