South Lyme Union Chapel to Hold Annual Blessing of Pets, Oct. 4
Pets and their owners are invited to the historic chapel for the community tradition honoring St. Francis of Assisi.

OLD LYME, CT – South Lyme Union Chapel invites all pets to its fourth annual Blessing of Pets on Sunday, Oct. 4.
The blessing will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the historic chapel, 308 Mile Creek Road.
Pets must be leashed, in a container or held. Those wishing to honor pets who have died are invited to bring photographs.
Refreshments will be available free of charge.
The event commemorates the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, who was born in the 12th century and is the patron saint of ecology and animals.
