St. Ann’s to Host 9/11 Prayer Service Marking 25th Anniversary
The free community event is intended to remember those affected by the attacks and tell the story of a defining moment in American history to younger generations.
OLD LYME, CT – Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church will host a 25th-anniversary commemoration of the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
The free event is open to the public and will be held at the church on 82 Shore Road in Old Lyme.
The program, titled “Where There is Love, There is Hope: A Prayer for Peace,” will feature readings, prayers and music honoring the lives lost and the legacy of unity, hope and service that emerged in the aftermath of the attacks.
Organizers described Sept. 11, 2001 as a defining moment in American history and said the commemoration is intended to remember those affected by the attacks and to tell the story to younger generations.
