OLD LYME, CT – A detached garage burned to the ground in a Tuesday morning fire, according to local Fire Marshal Dave Roberge.

He said Old Lyme firefighters found the garage fully engulfed when they arrived around 7 a.m. after the homeowner of the property at 38-1 Buttonball Road called 911.

The fire was extinguished within an hour, Roberge said. Fire departments from Lyme, Deep River, Essex, Old Saybrook and Clinton, along with Old Lyme EMS, also responded.

There were no injuries. He said the house did not sustain “any real damage” except for minor heat exposure to the siding.

The fire marshal said he is investigating the cause.

According to town assessor’s records, the property is owned by Amanda Blair. Real estate listings show it is currently for sale at $2.4 million.
