Wendelin Evans Knight, of Old Lyme, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, in Middletown, CT, after a short illness.

Wendelin Evans Knight, of Old Lyme, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, in Middletown, CT, after a short illness.

She was the wife of Warren A. “Dink” Knight, Jr., who predeceased her in 2003. She was born in Washington, D.C. in 1958, the daughter of John C. and Valerie H. Evans.

Wendy was a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall, Williams College, and Tulane Law School. She spent many years practicing environmental law and volunteering with the Junior League in New Orleans, where she and Dink raised their daughter. Since moving to Old Lyme in 2005, Wendy was passionate about her volunteer work with the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme and the Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library.

She is survived and profoundly missed by her daughter, Emily Evans Knight, and her husband, James David Walsh, of Groton; her stepdaughter, Philae Maxwell Knight, of New York City; her stepson, James Knight-Dominick, of Denver, CO; her sister, Nancy Evans Lloyd, of Providence, RI; her brother, John C.L. Evans, of Lyme; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Sarah and Davis Lloyd and Phoebe and Archer Evans.

A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Old Lyme on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will take place on Fishers Island, NY, in the spring.
