Dan Stevens brings ‘Blues 101’ to the Old Lyme Library, July 29

Old Lyme, CT – The Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library will host “Blues 101” with Dan Stevens at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 29. Through performances on vintage instruments, interspersed with historical images and video, Stevens will trace the history of blues music from its origins in the African American tradition of the Deep South to important centers like Memphis and Chicago, while exploring its relationship to rock and roll, jazz and even hip-hop. Online registration is requested.

“Ramblin” Dan Stevens is a veteran touring bluesman and teacher who has entertained audiences throughout the US, Germany, UK, Canada and Virgin Islands. Dan has been lauded for his ability as a raconteur and for the authenticity of his approach gained by many years on the road as a traveling blues musician.
