Letter to the Editor: Government Has a Role, but So Do Individuals

To the Editor:

I am proud to support Barbara Labriola for state representative of the 23rd District because I believe her values reflect the principles that have long made our community strong.

Barbara and I share the same values: freedom, respect for private property rights, respect for the individual, equal opportunity, even-handed justice and personal responsibility. She understands that government has an important role to play, but that individuals, families and communities should have the freedom to make decisions about their own lives and futures.

Barbara also understands that preserving what we value does not mean resisting change. The future will bring challenges, and we need leaders who will face them with confidence, strength and a clear understanding of the values that guide them.

I believe Barbara will bring that perspective to Hartford and contribute in a meaningful and productive way on day 1. She will stand up for our communities, and work to protect the freedoms and opportunities that make Connecticut and the 23rd District such special places to live.

Elect Barbara Labriola on Nov. 3!
