OLD LYME, CT – Lyme Academy of Fine Arts will celebrate its golden anniversary with Enroll for the Evening: A One-Night-Only 50th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the academy, 84 Lyme St.
Enroll for the Evening will give visitors a chance to explore studios, observe demonstrations in drawing, painting and sculpture, meet faculty and students and try classical art techniques. Cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres and dinner under a courtyard tent will be included.
The evening will also honor Michael T. Duffy, the academy’s retired board chair, for his leadership from 2020 to 2026. A silent auction featuring original artwork and art experiences will be held in the Chauncey Stillman Gallery, with proceeds supporting scholarships and student programs.
Founded by Elisabeth Gordon Chandler in 1976, Lyme Academy trains artists in the classical figurative tradition through direct observation.
Tickets are $200 for general admission and $100 for attendees under 30. Sales close Oct. 9 or when tickets sell out. Visit the event website to purchase tickets and for more information.

I hope you will include the years that Lyme Academy was a college, issuing a NASAD and NEASC certificate of education. You may consider asking Randy Melick to speak.
