Letter to the Editor: Brandy Campbell Asks for Support Once Again in Region 18

To the Editor:

My name is Brandy Campbell, and as the mother of two current students, I care deeply about the schools our children attend, their daily experiences and the community we build around them. I am seeking this one-year term because I believe our Board of Education should reflect the entire community it serves. In the past two elections, voters showed up and affirmed the value of that perspective. I remain committed to representing parents with firsthand knowledge of our classrooms and families who prioritize transparency, accountability, fiscal responsibility, parental involvement and strong academic foundations.

Bring Balance and Broader Representation

This candidacy reflects my continued commitment to our students, families, educators and neighbors. After two elections, I still believe the board is missing an essential perspective: a broader range of parental voices informed by firsthand school experiences and a commitment to parental involvement, fiscal responsibility and strong academic foundations. I will bring balance, respectful dialogue and diversity of thought to every discussion because broader representation leads to stronger conversations and better decisions.

Lead with Facts, Integrity, and Care

As a veterinarian and scientist, I value education, careful listening, thoughtful questions, close examination of the facts and responsible decisions that consider the people they affect. As a parent in this district for the past 11 years, I also understand our community, its culture and its high expectations. I value family, honesty, integrity, partnership and civic involvement. I believe our schools should be safe, welcoming and academically strong places where every student can learn, grow and succeed.

Listen, Communicate, and Work Together

If elected, I will listen respectfully, communicate honestly and work constructively with fellow board members, families, educators and community members. I am running to represent all students and families and to help guide the future of our schools. To everyone who has supported me before, I ask you to stand with me once again. I would be honored to serve on our Board of Education with a mother’s compassion, aveterinarian’s dedication to advocacy and well-being, a scientist’s respect for evidence and an unwavering commitment to our community.
