Learn About CT Residents’ Role in the Revolutionary War at Old Lyme Library

OLD LYME, CT – As the nation continues to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library will host a presentation exploring Connecticut residents who played roles in the Revolutionary War.

Bob Hubbard will present “Connecticut Heroes of the American Revolutionary War” on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the library’s Community Room, 2 Library Lane.

Through an illustrated slideshow, Hubbard will share the stories of Nathan Hale, Major General Israel Putnam, African-American soldier Jordan Freeman, Sybil Ludington, Native American patriot Samson Occom, Connecticut Courant publisher Hannah Bunce Watson and inventor David Bushnell.

The presentation will explore how the seven figures contributed to the war and left their mark on Connecticut and American history.
