Lyme Public Hall, Grange Seek Treasures for Sept. 12 Tag Sales

The George House Tag Sale is looking for donations of furniture, antiques, housewares and more, while the Lyme Grange is collecting children’s toys and equipment.

LYME, CT — Do you have treasures gathering dust? It’s time to put them to good use at the Lyme Public Hall’s annual George House Tag Sale and the Lyme Grange Toy Tag Sale.

Both tag sales will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The George House Tag Sale is located at the Lyme Public Hall, 249 Hamburg Road, with the Grange Toy Tag Sale just a few hundred feet away at the Grange, 2 Sterling City Road.

Donation drop-off dates for the George House Tag Sale begin Wednesday, Aug. 19 at Lyme Public Hall from 9 to 11 a.m. and continue Saturday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Monday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The hall is seeking good-quality donations, including solid-wood furniture, tools, antiques, jewelry, housewares, fine china and linens, sporting goods, musical instruments and artwork. Proceeds support public hall programming and the maintenance of the hall and Lyme’s Local History Archives.

The Grange will accept children’s toys and equipment, but no clothing, on select dates at the Grange. Proceeds from the sale will support Grange programming and the maintenance and preservation of the Grange Building and the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

Toy drop-off days are Saturday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Volunteers are also needed to help stage and price items before the sale.

Lyme Public Hall members whose memberships are current by the end of August will have early shopping access from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11. Renewal checks must be postmarked by Aug. 30 or memberships renewed online by Aug. 31.
