EAST HADDAM, CT – I-Park, the 450-acre international artists’ colony and nature preserve, will participate in Connecticut Trails Day on Saturday, June 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The free, family-friendly event at 428 Hopyard Road will feature live music, a guided hike, crafting activities and an educational program in the pollinator garden.

Walk-in registration will be accepted, though advance reservations are recommended; a suggested $10 donation per adult supports trail and garden maintenance.

Visitors can explore 25 trails featuring outdoor art installations across forests, fields, streams and ponds, or join a guided two-hour hike beginning at 10 a.m. that highlights sculptures along lesser-traveled paths.

From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., programming includes a recycled-art bird craft inspired by Fellow Alice Momm’s “The Flock,” plus a scavenger hunt focused on native pollinator plants.

Live music by The Jolly Beggars will run from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., offering Celtic folk music and storytelling.

Connecticut Trails Day, organized statewide by the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, is the largest annual celebration of trails in the state. I-Park’s programming emphasizes the intersection of art and nature and encourages environmental stewardship.

Additional Open Trails events will follow throughout the season, along with an Open Studios session on June 27 and a summer composers’ residency culminating in performances in East Haddam and New York City.
