Cappella Cantorum Honors America’s 250th with Spring Concert, April 26
Cappella Cantorum’s April 26 concert celebrates the nation’s 250th with uniquely American musical genres and composers.

CLINTON, CT – On April 26 at 3 p.m., Cappella Cantorum will celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with a vibrant tribute to American composers and musical traditions.
The performance will take place in the historic Andrews Memorial Auditorium at Clinton Town Hall, 54 East Main St. A complimentary reception will follow in the Green Room on the first floor.
The Masterworks Chorus and Cappella Orchestra will perform Schubert’s Mass in G Major. A specially curated program will follow with a selection including one seminary student’s patriotic anthem, the first recorded American spiritual, a Gospel sorrow song made famous by Mahalia Jackson and a modern setting for a James Agee poem.
The Masterworks Chorus and Cappella Orchestra will be conducted by Music Director Dr. Irina Georgieva. Soloists include soprano Megan Weikleenget, tenor Charles Feierabend and bass John Ong.
Tickets are available for advance purchase online, by calling (860) 532-0454 or through any chorus member at $32/adult and $16/youth (18 and under). Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $35/adult and $16/youth, subject to availability.
