Do Your Holiday Shopping the Old Fashioned Way on Historic Lyme Street, Saturday

Stroll down Lyme Street this Saturday and you’ll find it wrapped in holiday cheer – with plenty of local gifts to discover.

OLD LYME, CT – Stroll down Lyme Street this Saturday and you’ll find it wrapped in holiday cheer – with plenty of local gifts to discover.

From noon to 4 p.m., the Old Lyme Historical Society at 55 Lyme St. will host its third annual Holiday Market as members of the the Lyme Artisans Guild and Duck River Garden Club offer unique, handcrafted gifts. 

Lilywork Artisan Tile, across the street at 56 Lyme St., will open its doors from noon to 4 p.m. for its Winter Market and Open House. Studio tours will give visitors the opportunity to see how handcrafted tile is made. 

Local shopping opportunities continue at the Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library’s Holiday Sale, which includes gift quality books, DVDs, CDS, puzzles, art and waxed amaryllis bulbs in the community room from 9:30 to 1:30 p.m. Downstairs, used books will be on sale at Phoebe’s BookCellar for half price. 

Over at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts at 84 Lyme St., a pop up boutique from Lyme-based jewelry designer Ann Lightfoot will be open at De Gerenday’s Fine Art Materials and Curiosities from noon to 5 p.m. Shoppers can stick around for Lyme Academy’s fifth annual Holiday Enchantment and Tree Lighting event from 3 to 5 p.m., which offers music, crafts, treats, a Santa visit, and a 4:30 p.m. tree lighting led by First Selectwoman Martha Shoemaker.
