Join Old Lyme historian Capt. Jack Spratt as he explores the role of Revolutionary War privateers in a talk at the historic Lanphear Livery in Watch Hill.
Spratt will focus on how local privateers – privately owned vessels authorized to raid enemy shipping – played a critical role in the early years of the American Revolution.
Titled A Lifeline of Liberty, the program is sponsored by the Westerly Historical Society with support from Gray Sail Brewing and the Watch Hill Conservancy.
