The two-hour session provides certification through the QPR Institute. QPR, which stands for “Question, Persuade, Refer,” is an evidence-based program that teaches participants how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, start a supportive conversation and connect individuals to appropriate help.

The session takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the High Hopes classroom, 36 Town Woods Road. Advance registration is required.

The training is open to anyone interested in learning practical skills to support someone in crisis.

Participants in the training will learn how to identify warning signs, reduce stigma surrounding suicide, offer hope and support, access local and national resources and take action.
