Upcoming September Events at the Lyme Public Library
The Lyme Public Library provides a welcoming place to share coffee with friends, enjoy a book sale, and meet a pig.

LYME, CT – The Lyme Public Library will host the following events in September:
The Sweet Spot from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1 in the Community Room. Coffee, tea, and baked goods are provided by members of the Lyme Public Library Board and the Friends of the Lyme Public Library. The Sweet Spot offers attendees the opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones. Visit www.lymepl.org or call 860-434-2272 to register for the event. Walk-ins welcome.
Friends of the Lyme Public Library Book Sale from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, from 3 to 7pm on Friday, September 11 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 in the Community Room. On Thursday, the sale will be open to Lyme residents and members of the Friends only. On Friday and Saturday, the general public is welcome. All items will be half price on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and then there will be a $12 bag sale from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Lyme Public Library Cookbook Club at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 19. Every month the cookbook club uses recipes from a particular cookbook chosen by the participants and makes items to share with the group. September’s theme is Brazilian cooking.
Stitch Craft Club from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 26. If you enjoy knitting, embroidery, crochet, cross stitch, quilting or any other form of easily portable hand crafts, this is the perfect opportunity to gain experience and expand your creativity by sharing with others.
Gilbert the Pig Visits the Library at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 26 in the Community Room. Billed as “the smartest pig on 4 trotters,” Gilbert the pig and his friends will be visiting the Lyme Library to help promote animal empathy.
