Lyme-Old Lyme’s Shoreline Wildcats Enter Regional Bracket Play Undefeated

The team, representing Connecticut in the Little League Senior Softball East Region Tournament, will begin bracket play Monday after a 10-0 win over Massachusetts.

WORCESTER, MA – The Shoreline Wildcats remained undefeated at the Little League East Region Tournament with a 10-0 victory over Massachusetts on Sunday.

The Wildcats, representing Connecticut and made up of players from Lyme, Old Lyme and surrounding communities, are 3-0 in tournament play. Teams from New York to Maryland are competing in Worcester for a chance to advance to the Senior Softball World Series.

Connecticut is scheduled to begin bracket play Monday at 8 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.

Isabella Franklin led the Wildcats offensively with four RBIs on three hits, according to results provided by the team. The game included a six-run second inning as Mia Stokes singled home a run, AJ Scrivo added a two-run single and Franklin delivered her three-run homer. In the third inning, Izzy Martel’s lineout brought a runner home.

Franklin, also the starting pitcher, allowed just one hit over five shutout innings while striking out seven.

The Wildcats played error-free defense and turned a double play.
