Lyme-Old Lyme Senior Softball All-Stars Enter State Finals With Third Straight Shutout
The team is one step closer to a return trip to the Little League World Series.
WATERFORD, CT – Lyme-Old Lyme Senior Softball All-Stars continued their dominant run through the state tournament Thursday night, defeating Bristol Seniors 16-0 in Wateford.
The victory improved the Wildcats to 3-0 in state tournament play, with the team yet to allow a single run.
Bea Aldana drove in four runs on two hits, including a two-run home run in the first inning and a two-run triple in the fourth. The team got 10 hits and drew eight walks while stealing eight bases.
Isabella Franklin earned the win on the pitcher’s mound with four hitless innings, seven strikeouts and two walks. Franklin also contributed when the team scored five runs in the second inning and eight in the fourth.
The team made no errors.
The Wildcats will play Game 1 of the state championship series at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, in Bristol.
