OLD LYME, CT – The Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center will continue its 2026 Connecticut River Lecture Series Thursday, Oct. 29, with a talk on monarch butterfly biology and conservation at the Lyme Art Association.

Dr. Kelsey E. Fisher of the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station will discuss monarch butterfly biology and behavior and how research can inform habitat restoration efforts to support the declining species.

The series will conclude Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Old Lyme Memorial Town Hall with “Where Are the Birds and How Do We Protect Them? Results from the CT Bird Atlas.” Chris Elphick of the University of Connecticut will share findings from the atlas, which collected more than 600,000 bird observations, and discuss what they reveal about bird populations and conservation needs across Connecticut.

Both lectures begin at 5 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Advance registration is encouraged by calling 860-598-4218 or visiting Connecticut Audubon’s programs and events page.
