Lyme-Old Lyme VFW Benefit Focuses on Veterans in Need, Oct. 10

LYME/OLD LYME, CT – Lyme-Old Lyme VFW Post 1467 will hold its annual benefit for veterans in need on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Christ the King Parish Hall in Old Lyme.

The event raises money for the post’s Vets in Need program, which provides assistance to local veterans facing financial or other hardships. The program has helped more than 140 veterans since 2012 with expenses including food, rent, utilities, transportation, home and vehicle repairs and accessibility improvements.

The post recently discussed Vets in Need and its work supporting veterans in an episode of a regional veterans podcast. The episode is available to watch on YouTube.

The benefit also supports veterans programs at the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs in Rocky Hill, the West Haven VA Medical Center, Fisher House Connecticut and the Giant Steps art and music therapy program.

Dinner reservations are required and cost $75 per person, payable in advance by check or Venmo.
