LAA’s Fall Lineup Offers Taste of New England Art and Cuisine

OLD LYME, CT – The Lyme Art Association is offering visitors a taste of New England this fall, with exhibitions celebrating the region’s landscapes and culinary traditions followed by its annual Palate to Palette fundraising gala in October.

New England Landscape, the association’s annual juried exhibition, features paintings and other works depicting the East Coast landscape, including rural farmland, wooded hills, historic homes, roads and townscapes.

Running concurrently, Bon Appétit features artwork inspired by food, farmers’ markets and restaurants.

The gallery, at 90 Lyme St., is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, or by appointment. Admission is free and donations are appreciated.

LAA also will host its annual Palate to Palette fundraising gala from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 15 at the gallery. The event features live music, food from regional restaurants and caterers and a silent auction of artwork by member artists. Proceeds support the association’s exhibitions and special projects.

Call for Artists

The association also is seeking entries for its upcoming Deck the Walls exhibition, scheduled for Nov. 13 through Jan. 1. The annual show features representational artwork intended to uplift viewers and highlight pieces suitable for gift giving. Paintings, drawings, hand-pulled prints and sculpture in all media are eligible.

Applications will be accepted through midnight Oct. 9. The show is open to Lyme Art Association members.
