Old Lyme Seeks Community Photos for America 250 Commemorative Book
Share your best Old Lyme photos to help document the country’s 250th anniversary. Selected images may also be featured in town publications and online.

OLD LYME, CT – The town is calling on residents and visitors to share their favorite local images from 2026 for a commemorative book celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.
The publication will showcase the town’s natural beauty, people, celebrations and everyday moments throughout the yearlong celebration. The town in a news release said two or more selected photographs will be featured on the front and back covers of the 2025–2026 Old Lyme Annual Town Report, and additional submissions may appear in the town’s America 250 publications and promotions, on the town website and across other electronic media.
Submission Guidelines
Photos must have been taken in Old Lyme between January 1 and November 30, 2026. Eligible subjects include events, people, organizations, landscapes, wildlife, fireworks, parades, buildings, graduations, celebrations, sporting events and more.
All entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on November 30 via email to OLPhotos2026@oldlyme-ct.gov. Each submission should include:
- Title or subject of the photograph
- Photographer’s name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Approximate date the photo was taken
Photos should be high resolution JPG files (300–600 DPI) with no borders, signatures or watermarks. Entries that include children must also include a completed Photo Release Form available on the event website.
Terms and Conditions
By submitting a photo, photographers certify that the image is their own original work and that they hold sole copyright ownership. Photographers grant the Town of Old Lyme permission to use the photograph, without monetary compensation, in the town’s America 250 publications and promotions, the Annual Town Report, the town website and other electronic media. Photos will be credited where feasible, though the Town of Old Lyme is under no obligation to use any submitted entry.
Submitted photographs may not contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit or otherwise inappropriate content. Digital manipulation is limited to basic enhancements such as standard adjustments to color, contrast, brightness, sharpness and cropping. AI-generated images, composite images and heavily edited or digitally manipulated photos will not be accepted.
