Patriotism Floats at Rogers Lake 7th Annual Boat Parade, July 4
Whether you’re competing for the trophy or watching from shore, the boat parade promises a festive and patriotic July 4 in this semiquincentennial year.

OLD LYME, CT – The 7th Annual Rogers Lake Boat Parade will launch Saturday, July 4, at 1 p.m. from the Hains Park area as the coveted trophy awaits its next home on the “most enthusiastic, patriotic, and best decorated” boat.
The winners of the Rogers Lake Boat Parade cup will keep it for 12 months before presenting it to next year’s winner. The Levasseur Family currently holds the trophy.
Both motorized and non-motorized boats are invited to participate but all must be festively/patriotically decorated. In order to achieve a timely start, participants should arrive around 12:50 p.m.
Participants are invited to follow the designated lead boat or join in from their location on the lake. The route is one counter-clockwise lap around the lake.
Boats should stay within 100 feet of the shore at no-wake speed, and no swimming in or near the parade is permitted.
All participants are asked to be respectful and mindful of everyone’s safety. Organizers have laid out the following rules:
- Space out and enjoy the shoreline
- Follow Rogers Lake laws and safety regulations
- This is a family-friendly event (be kind)
- Participate at your own risk
- Do not throw anything off a boat and no trash is to be discarded in the lake
