Death Announced of Nancy Louise Campbell of Old Lyme

Nancy Louise Campbell, of Old Lyme, passed away on July 2, 2026.

Born on Nov. 29, 1938, Nancy grew up in Beach Bottom, West Virginia, met and married Richard while working as a nurse in Roswell, New Mexico, continued on with him to Eagle Mountain, California, then traveled back across the country to raise their family in Old Lyme.  Nancy and Richard enjoyed many summer vacations with their children at York Beach in Maine, as well as trips back to West Virginia to visit with her family. 

Nancy owned and operated several small businesses in the Old Lyme area and had a wealth of knowledge of happenings past and present in the town. Most recently she and Richard enjoyed lunches and events with friends at the Lymes’ Senior Center.

Nancy will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, her quiet strength, and a deep love for her family.  She found joy in everyday moments, and her greatest joy was her family.  Nancy and Richard were blessed with three children, Deborah Gardner (James), William Campbell (Deborah), and Thomas Campbell (Sharon); seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.  Grandchildren and great grandchildren often stopped by to share what was happening in their lives, and Mimi was always there to listen, to offer support, and to share hugs with them.

Nancy is now reunited in heaven with her dear sister Carol, her mother Mary, her father George, and her brother Buck. Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to the Lymes’ Senior Center in Old Lyme.
