Wisialowski Launches Another Campaign for 23rd House District Seat

Old Saybrook Democrat Jane Wisialowski will vie again to represent Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and part of Westbrook.

Jane Wisialowski, a Democrat from Old Saybrook, is running for the 23rd House District seat.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT – Democrat Jane Wisialowski has launched another campaign to represent the 23rd House District covering Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and part of Westbrook.

In an email this week, she said she has called the shoreline area home for decades.

Wisialowski, of Old Saybrook, was elected to the town’s Board of Selectmen in November. She previously served on the Board of Education and the Parks and Recreation Commission.

“For over 25 years I’ve lived, worked, volunteered and raised my family here,” she said. “I understand the needs of this community and believe we deserve a state representative who speaks for our values and can deliver for this district.”

She will face Old Saybrook Republican Barbara Labriola. Wisialowski lost to incumbent Devin Carney, R-Old Lyme, in 2024, when she received 49% of the vote.

Carney announced in March he would not seek a seventh term.

Wisialowski is a professional conservator and fiduciary appointed by Connecticut probate judges to help individuals manage their financial and personal affairs.

“That work, combined with years of community volunteering, has given me a deep, personal understanding of what our neighbors actually need from their government,” she said.

Lyme Democratic Town Committee Chairman John Kiker on Wednesday described Wisialowski as an outstanding candidate.

“She genuinely understands the issues that matter to our community and has shown a real commitment to representing our interests in Hartford,” he said.

Kiker noted that Wisialowski carried Lyme in 2024. She received 55% of the vote there, making it the only municipality in the district she won.

“We’re proud to stand behind her again and are ready to help her get over the finish line this time,” he said.

Wisialowski was nominated on May 20 by Democratic delegates from the district.

She lives in Old Saybrook with her husband, Todd, and their two sons.
