Lyme-Old Lyme captured state track and field titles from Chase Gilbert and Patrick Lynch, wrapped tennis postseason runs and advanced in girls lacrosse.

Lyme-Old Lyme’s season came to an end with a 7-0 loss to Suffield in the first round of the Class S tournament after the Wildcats opened postseason play with a 7-0 sweep of Immaculate in a state tournament play-in match.

The Wildcats finished 10-5, placed third in the Shoreline Conference, earned a state tournament victory and qualified all 10 varsity players for the Shoreline individual tournament.
Coach Andrew Tyrol in an email said it’s been his “favorite year coaching by far.”
He credited strong leadership from captains Ryan Miller, Ryan Olsen and Chris Dagher, and said the seven seniors’ kindness, positivity and work ethic will leave a lasting legacy on the program. The Wildcats will return a strong young core led by Nicholas Moraillon and Gavin Gray along with freshmen Jack Montmeat and Parker Forbes.
“I am upset that the season is over but so happy for this team,” he said.

Class S State Tournament, First Round
Lyme-Old Lyme 7 – Old Saybrook 6
The Wildcats advanced to the second round of the Class S tournament. They will travel to Granby on Friday, June 5, after the Bears defeated Valley Regional.
Maya LeQuire (3 goals, 2 draw controls) led the Wildcats offensively.
Anna Bussman (1 goal, 2 assists, 1 draw control), Brooke Burgess (1 goal), Jill Kleefeld (1 goal, 3 interceptions, 2 draw controls) and Anne Marie Hinckley (1 goal) also scored. Elise Marchant and Reagan Christopher each added an assist.
Charlotte Antonio made four saves in goal.
